Meeting: April 24, 2018
Selected Charity: Center for Independent Futures
Nominated by Karen Berkowsky
Center for Independent Futures is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities live full and more independent lives by creating sustainable solutions through community living options, personal networks, and lifelong planning and education. Each plan is tailored to support individuals and families. Our donation was made in memory of Karen Berkowsky's brother, Arnie Schumer. It was used to establish a scholarship in his name to offer financial assistance to people needing the services of Center for Independent Futures. An anonymous donor is matching all donations to the Arnie Schumer Scholarship Fund up to $25,000, meaning our donation has already been doubled!
